Happy to announce Three Movements for Drumset by Ox and Lamb Percussion Publications. Written in 2020, the three movements are for a 4-piece drumset with a cowbell. They are inspired by the 16th note grid accents and concepts from The New Breed by Gary Chester. Exploring the intersections of the back beat with various feels and time changes, the movements incorporate open handed and crossed playing that emphasizes solid timekeeping and groove. Big thanks to Dr. Joshua Smith from Ox and Lamb for publishing these solos.
I. Ode to the Grid
II. Five and Four
III. Sea Change

The last time in my life that I can remember going six weeks with out making music with other musicians in real time was 1984 before I joined band at Wells middle school in Houston, TX. Since then I have always been making music with other people in the same room. It might have just been: playing on a practice pad drumming with a fellow student in a practice room, or playing in marching band, percussion ensemble, concert band, or musicals, or drumming for dance class, choir, and church.
